With four stretcher bar options and a multitude of border treatments available for canvas prints it might be easy to get confused but don't panic! It is our guarantee to help you every step of the way to ensure your canvas prints look fantastic when they are hung in your home or office.

Simply make a selection from the choices pictured below. When you place your order, leave us a message in the Special Request section if you have any questions or specific requirements. We will prepare the image and email you a digital proof prior to printing.

  White Wrap
WHITE - Shows a white edge on your image. A very simple clean look to your images. Order a white edge if your image is being traditionally framed or with a white shadow box frame.
Black Border
BLACK OR COLOUR - Choose black or any complimentary colour from the image to finish your canvas. Ask us to send you a digital proof showing the chosen colour.
This option works best with black shadow box frames.
Mirror Wrap
MIRROR WRAP - Creates the illusion that the image continues around the side of the bar. This is an excellent option where the canvas is being stretched only and important parts of the image are close to the edge. The mirror gives the effect of a larger image.
Enlarged Wrap
ENLARGED IMAGE - The image is enlarged to completely wrap around the side of the bar. Caution - important elements near the edge of the image may wrap around the side. This option works best with images that have a lot of open space near the edges.

What's the difference between image size and border size?

  • Image Size - This refers to the finished size of your print and the size you should enter into the order form when placing your order. The Calculator automatically works out what size border to add depending on your choice of stretcher bar. For example, if you want a 40x50cm finished print size then we will add a border to this size according to the framing or mounting option you choose. If you don't want your canvas stretched now, then order "Rolled Only" and we will supply it with a 50mm border on each side for later stretching.
  • Border Size - This refers to the area outside the finished Image Size and is used to wrap around the side of the stretcher frame. It is often referred to as the sides, gallery wrap or wrap. The Border Size is determined by the framing or mounting option you choose.
  • Stretcher Bar Size - We offer four bar sizes - 18mm deep x 42mm, 32mm deep x 42mm and a reversible bars that can be 42mm or 50mm deep. You can learn more about these on the Framing/Mounting Options page.

Wrap Sample

This image has been prepared with a mirror wrap.

The red line indicates the finished image - the bit that will show on the front of the stretched canvas.

Outside the red line is the mirrored section that will be on the side of the finished print. The size of this border will vary depending on the stretcher bar you choose - see list above.

The white border around the image is 1cm on each side and is used for stapling the canvas to the back of the frame.

The Inset shows the two 1pixel crop marks in the corners which are used as guides when framing.
